Send Us Your Great Ideas
and Join The Saint Circle . . .

Sometimes, planning a VBS can seem like a complicated maze. We don’t think it should be. Even though we offer several suggestions for planning your VBS in our VBS Kit, we like to get feedback from all of you out in the field. Our DREs, VBS Coordinators and Volunteers have fantastic ideas for implementing our Totally Catholic VBS Programs! We want to share their ideas with you to help with planning your own Growing with the Saints VBS. Share a great idea! Please send it to Susan Lawson: ideas@growingwiththesaints.com

Closing Prayer
I just wanted to send you a thought – we've been using a song from the program as a closing prayer – last year we did the Our Father, so the song for closing prayer was obviously the Our Father. The year before we did St. Patrick and we used part of the St. Patrick Breastplate as the closing prayer. I think that it works well – the kids learn a new song and music is a great way to memorize.

Noelle Hiester - St. Bernadette

Musical Crafts
Everyone enjoyed the songs: we sang them during crafts. The best part is the children learned about their Faith while having a lot of fun. One five year old could name all three virtues and explain that they were gifts from God that we received at our Baptism. The kids made connections among the five stories.

Marching Saints
When children move from one station to the next, have everyone singing together, When the Saints Go Marching In. Pump up the fun and keep everyone focused on marching to their destination at the same time.

Jumping Priest
Our priest stood in the circle with children around him. We played the song Jump for Jesus from The Assorted Saints CD and every time the kids sang “Jesus”, our priest jumped higher.
